Q. How long does your hair need to be when you wax?
A. For your first wax it should be at least a quarter of an inch. If you haven’t waxed or shaved before in your bikini area, it’s a good idea to give it a trim but not too short.

Q. Is it a good idea to let your nails breath?
A. Your nails don’t breath. In fact they don’t have lungs. Your nails are an appendage of your skin just like your hair. That being said you should make sure to use a nail treatment and cuticle oil just like you would use a deep conditioner for your hair.

Q. Why do you use hard wax and regular wax?
A. Our regular wax also known as strip wax is a cream formula for sensitive skins as it is kept at a lower temperature. Our hard wax also known as a hot wax is used in smaller delicate areas. It is applied thick and will dry, shrink and wrap around the hair. We then flip up the corner of the wax and pull the wax off. Because it dries it is not sticky and won’t pull on the skin. This will make the area less reactive and will be a lot less painful.

Q. What is the difference between gel polish and nail polish?
A. Gel polish is applied like a polish to a natural nail and cured like a gel in a uv lamp. It is flexible, instantly dry and doesn’t chip for 2-3 weeks. It has a high gloss shine that remains even when you are in the sand with your toes. It is removed by filing off the top gloss layer and soaking for approximately 10minutes. It will not damage your nails but it is good to use a nail strengthener after to hydrate.

Q. How often should I be getting facials?
A. Ideally- once a month; our skin has a desquamation process where it essentially sheds itself every 28 days. As we age to approximately 28-29 years old this process tends to increase itself by a day, year after year. Getting a facial once a month will help keep your skin glowing! If you are prone to menstrual breakouts- getting a facial once a month before your cycle can help to control the breakout. If you are unable to get a facial once a month, we recommend getting one before each season as our skin changes with the weather.

Q. How long does a spray tan last?
A. A spray tan “dyes” the surface layer of your skin which is why it is very important that you exfoliate before your spray tan. To maintain your tan (which can last from 10-14 days) - moisturize daily.

Q. How long does tinting last?
A. Eyebrow and eyelash tinting lasts about 3-4 weeks depending on how much you wash the area.

Q. Is it normal to break out after a facial?
A. It is possible to break out after a facial; it all depends on your skin, the goal of the facial and the products used. Getting a strong exfoliation can be very stimulating on the skin which can lead to a pimple or two shortly after your facial but then less in the future. If purifying products are used there is a greater chance of breaking out because the products are designed to pull the impurities out. If you are getting a facial before a wedding or special event it is a good idea to let your Esthetician know so they can avoid certain products which may lead to a break out.
